What is metabolic syndrome?
Metabolic syndrome has 5 key features:

Women —35 inches (88 cm) or more - Elevated triglycerides:
150 mg/do or more - Reduced HDL (“good”) cholesterol:
Men — Less than 40 mg/do
Women — Less than 50 mg/do - Elevated blood pressure:
130/85 mm Hg or more - Elevated fasting glucose:
100 mg/do or more
What are the important action plans to control metabolic syndrome?
- Exericise and weight training.
- Reduce abdominal obesity by diet and exercise.
- Supplement fish oil to reduce insulin resistance.
- Control blood pressure
- Control the cholesterol and triglyceride numbers by diet and or medications.
